South India

After surviving 5 days in minus 20 at the cold but beautiful Himalayas, we needed a warm place to melt the snow of our feet. Without a doubt, South India was a great idea. We started in Goa.

Panaji

Because I feel the rhythm of salsa inside, I immediately felt in love with this city. This colorful houses give it a laid-back, Spanish touch.

The second reason why I love it so much, is the food. This city used to be a part of Portugal and you can literally taste that. If you're looking for an extraordinary and payable restaurant, go to 'Viva Panjim' ! By far my favorite place in India. The most popular dishes are the chilly fry chicken or the steak with orange and honey.

If you're looking for a cheap and lovely place to sleep 'Hospedaria Abrigo De Botelho' has it all. Just for 25 euro/person you'll have a nice and clean room with breakfast.

Tip: The cab from the airport to the hotel was pretty cheap. Just ask without airconditioning and the price will be lower.

Galgibag

After exploring the city of Panaji, which I really suggest to discover if you feel the rhythm of the salsa too and love the Latin vibe. We visited a few of the South Indian beaches. We decided to go to Peaceful beaches that weren't too crowded. So we went to Galgibag. Maybe a little bit too serene. But perfect for 2 nights. We rent a scooter and visit Cola beach and Palolem ( = more crowded beach). Cola Beach was my favorite! If I go back one day, I would definitely sleep one night over there.

! Tip: Book your train tickets in advance. During high season it can be difficult to find some seats. We wasted a lot of time because of that.

Munnar

They call it: 'Little England' of India. Beautiful tea plantations surround the tranquil hills of Munnar. Believe it or not, I was a coffee addict. But after this trip my love for tea has grow.

Kerala

Happy birthday to me! My boyfriend arranged a private housebout for my 25th birthday. It was the perfect ending of our Indian story! The boat included a chef, who made fried bananas as a snack (my all time favorite) and stopped at a spa where a had a (weird) massage. I would never do it again. It looked clean at the outside, but it was definitely not clean at the inside. Either way, it was a funny experience. (:
